HIGHWAY 199 TRAFFIC SCHEDULE

THE FOLLOWING PERTAINS TO HIGHWAY 199 FROM O'BRIEN IN OREGON TO GASQUET IN CALIFORNIA IN THE KELLY FIRE. IT TOOK EFFECT AT MIDNIGHT 9/14. IT WILL BE IN PLACE UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE.

HIGHWAY 199 IS CONDITIONALLY OPEN. IT CAN CLOSE AT ANYTIME WITH NO WARNING BASED ON FIRE ACTIVITY NEAR THE HIGHWAY AND DEBRIS/ROCK FALLS ON TO THE HIGHWAY. CLOSURES CAN BE LONG DURATION. ALWAYS BE EXPECTING CLOSURES TO OCCUR.

Monday through Friday -

Open with one lane of travel at a time until 8 am. Pilot cars in use. Delays of an hour possible.

Closed to all travel from 8 am to 11 am Monday through Friday.

Open with one lane of travel at a time from 11 am to 1 pm. Pilot cars in use. Delays of an hour possible.

Closed to all travel from 1 pm to 4 pm Monday through Friday.

After 4 pm, open with one lane of travel at a time. Pilot cars in use. Delays of an hour possible.

SATURDAYS, SUNDAYS, AND HOLIDAYS

Construction impacts - 

Josephine County, Oregon - MP 29.4 - 41.6 Intersection with Oregon Caves Highway OR-46. Road construction is occurring. Prepare to slow. Watch for workers. For the weeks of August 13-18 and August 20-25, most work will focus on the area between Cave Junction and the California border. This will involve nighttime grinding and paving between Cave Junction and O’Brien, and a daytime chip seal between O’Brien and the border. Other work in this area will involve electrical lines and installation of safety features. Motorists should expect delays up to 20 minutes.
