Highway 3 Road Conditions in Siskiyou and Northern Trinity Counties -
Spots of ice should be expected this morning.
Snow is not removed from the travelway nights, weekends & holidays from 20 mi north of Trinity Center (Trinity Co) to 3 mi south of Callahan (Siskiyou Co) /Scott Mountain. Additionally....in heavy snow events, Highway 3 will close as resources will be shifted to focus on I 5.
Motorists are required to carry chains, or otherwise meet Snow Zone requirements through March 31st.

If you do not know about this highway, you should. Especially in the winter as it can be an alternate route to get you around big storms and closures at Mt. Shasta on I 5 and California State Highway 89.
