HIGHWAY 101 IS IN POOR SHAPE IN DEL NORTE COUNTY SOUTH OF CRESCENT CITY. MULTIPLE PROJECTS ARE ON GOING TO MAKE REPAIRS TO SLIDE AREAS, AND ALSO REPAIRING A BRIDGE. YOU ARE HIGHLY ENCOURAGED TO FIND ALTERNATE ROUTES OF TRAVEL FROM THE OREGON STATE LINE TO EUREKA IN HUMBOLDT COUNTY.
Del Norte County - California - Caltrans will be working on U.S. 101 from Citizens Dock Road to Burtschell Street until November if things go according to plan. Lane closures will be in effect in both directions and motorists should anticipate minor traffic slowdowns. This work will enhance the local experience for pedestrians and cyclists. The project includes upgrades to ramps, driveways, crosswalks, and sidewalks, as well as a pedestrian crossing near the southern intersection of Sunset Circle.
Del Norte County - California - 1-WAY CONTROLLED TRAFFIC AT VARIOUS LOCATIONS FROM 3.7 MI NORTH OF THE JCT OF SR 197 /AT ROWDY CREEK RD TO 4 MI NORTH OF THE JCT OF SR 197 /AT BECKSTEAD AVE 24 HRS A DAY THROUGH 12/31/21 - DUE TO CONSTRUCTION
Coos County - Oregon - Construction is occurring in Coos Bay at mile post 236 to mile post 238. Use caution. This project will make several improvements at the intersections U.S. 101 (northbound and southbound) and Johnson Avenue in south Coos Bay. Traffic on Johnson Avenue has been reduced to one lane in each direction. Due to traffic congestion in the work zone, Johnson Avenue motorists who plan to turn north on U.S. 101 are advised to use alternate routes. Elsewhere, watch for nighttime lane closures. Additionally, the City of Coos Bay, will make improvements to the U.S. 101 (Front Street) intersection at Hemlock Avenue. Northbound U.S. 101 traffic is on a temporary alignment. Watch for intermittent lane closures. Watch for traffic control devices and construction vehicles. Expect congestion and possible delays through the work zone.
