MP 28 - 83, 11 miles East of Glide. Road construction is occurring. Use caution. In general, expect delays up to 20 minute at each of several work zones along the North Umpqua corridor as crews remove hazard trees from last summer’s Archie Creek and Thielsen wildfires. Watch for flaggers and pilot cars. In the Thielsen Fire area (milepost 76-80), contractors will remove hazard trees throughout the summer. Watch for flaggers and expect delays up to 20 minutes. Work is scheduled for Monday-Friday from 6 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Saturday from 6 a.m. to 3 p.m. In the Archie Creek Fire area (milepost 21-38), watch for intermittent lane closures with flaggers and delays. The amount of work in this area is expected to increase throughout July, resulting in numerous work zones and increased delays. When driving through a work zone, stay in your vehicle, do not pull over or stop on the side of the road.
